Example: 8 feeds test

What computer power do you need for 8 SRT streams in SDI?

We often get asked what computer power you need to receive 8 SRT streams and output them all 8 to SDI , typically in Full HD 50p or 50i

So we decided to do a test and thought we would share the results with you!

For our test setup, we used:

• Blackmagic Deadlink Quad 2

• Two Intel NUC computers:

• One with a Core i9 processor

• One with a Xeon E-2286M processor

Note: both CPUs are cut down versions designed to run in an Intel NUC.As you can see below, our setup handled the task perfectly!

But we did optimize this by running the SRT Mini Server in “Run without NDI ” mode.

Result

8 x SRT 1080_50p —-> 8 x SDI 1080_50p/i.

We use SW and HW decoding. SW is better in our opinion.
